About the Artist

Having retired from working as a local primary school teacher, I found time to enjoy Thanet’s beautiful scenery. The coastal paths were a fabulous escape during lockdown and the varying weather conditions were a great inspiration. Retirement gave me time to undertake activities at a more leisurely pace, allowing me to experiment with alternative artistic styles.

Margate - Under the influence… was the first in my series of local seascape paintings, paying homage to Van Gogh and Hokusai followed swiftly by Broadstairs and then Westgate on Sea; and so the series began.

Several other editions have now joined my series of Under The Influence paintings including Ramsgate, venturing further with Reculver and down as far as Brighton. My paintings are available to buy online as limited edition Giclee prints and greetings cards and can be found at some local galleries -  Westgate Galleria and The Eclectic Art Gallery, Margate.
